Infusion

Perhaps the most basic interaction, soulfire undergoes infusion when it’s radially compressed by the Conscious Plane, shunting it down into the physical realm. This process also generates a form of radiation called sparks, in order to preserve the information lost in transferring continuous soulfire into quantized reality. Only infused soulfire is capable of directly interacting with matter or the physical forces.

Notably, engrammatic soulfire is exceptionally difficult to compress in this manner, as rather than the point-like nature of typical soulfire, its interconnected structure leads it to be "slippery." A major hurdle to clear when learning ichor production as a skill is the delicacy needed to accomplish this.
