Fireborn

A person born from the often intentional collision of intense amounts of soulfire from two or more individuals, effectively generating an incarnate phantasm. One notable disctinction is that fireborn are often born with biological bodies in the image of their parents, but are highly subject to infertility. This is due to the collision process constructing a resonant chamber somewhere between those of the contributors, which is at high risk of settling into a vessel that, while visually similar, does not possess similar enough genetic code. Thus, fireborn are often unable to have children of their own, except by the same process.

However, fireborn are the only option for any soul without a biological form to produce offspring, as is the often the case for souls which have abandoned their original bodies to inhabit an ichor-based corpus instead. This gives way to an ethical consideration about bringing forth life that must effectively earn its right to have children of its own, which has long been a subject of debate, with no clear consensus.
